Essential oils have quite a long shelf life so you can definitely extend their usage. Here are 5 ways you can make your essential oils last longer and work better. The goal here is that you will never use them the same way again.

5 Ways to Make the Most of Essential Oils

1) Dilute with Carrier Oils

If you’ve been using essential oils long, you probably already know that they cannot be used unless diluted, especially on sensitive skin. One way to make the most of any bottle you get is by diluting it with a carrier oil. A little essential oil goes a long way. You will only need a few drops of it per use.

To save on essential oils, you could make your own mixture of carrier oil with essential oil. To a separate bottle, fill it with carrier oil. To this bottle, add 10-12 drops of essential oil and shake well. This mixture would last you a while and you could use it as you please on your skin and hair.

2) Dilute with Water

Essential oils can be diluted with water as well. You could create your own spray using a combination of essential oils in water.

One such spray is Nexon Botanics Lavender Essential Oil with water. Fill the bottle to three quarters of the bottle with water and then add 5-7 drops of lavender essential oil. You can use this spray on your pillow, as an aromatherapy spray or a toilet spray. This will help your essential oil last longer and be used as a multipurpose product.

3) Diffuser Blends

Aromatherapy is incomplete without essential oils. Essential oils exude relaxing and calming fragrances that have rejuvenating properties.

One way to extend how long your essential oils last is by mixing them together in a diffuser blend. Remember that with essential oils, a little goes a long way.

4) Scented Ornaments

If you’re not a fan of diffuser blends, scented ornaments are the perfect alternative for you. Scented candles are all the rage and essential oils are the main ingredient!

You could easily make your own candles using essential oils. Melt soy wax in a pitcher and combine essential oils. Place a wick at the center of the candle and light it when it cools.

These scented ornaments last quite a while, depending on how many you make. They're a great way to save money on a diffuser and they also conserve your essential oils.

5) Scented Soaps

Why stop at candles when you can make soaps, too? Since essential oils are excellent for the body and skin, soaps are a great way to use them.

Homemade soaps are an easy fix. Make a combination of glycerin and a soap of your choice. Crush the soap and melt it with the glycerin. Add in 5-7 drops of your favorite essential oil to the soap mix. Place the mixture into a mold and allow it to cool.
